Service League's Children's Classic Run
A beautiful fall morning was the setting as the Service League conducted the Children's Classic Run on the campus of Indiana State University at Mark's Field.  The event partner ISU Track & Field did a great job as well as Volunteers from Best Buy, Terre Haute South's Fit for Life and Terre Haute North Interact.  Preliminary figures show that the event should net approximately $19,500!
Eagle Rider's Helping Prevent Cancer
Union Hospital Foundation would like to thank a group of very special people that have made a difference in our community. The Eagle Riders Motorcycle group, which is affiliated with the Terre Haute Fraternal Order of Eagles, conducted their 3rd Annual Eagle Riders Motorcycle Ride for Mammogram Assistance on Saturday, September 3rd which resulted in $5,600 for the Mammogram Assistance Fund for Union Hospital's Clara Fairbanks Center for Women. The Mammogram Assistance Fund provides support for women who do not have some type of insurance coverage or other resources for tests.
Thanking all for Volleyball for the Small
A great crowd created an special atmosphere for the 3rd Annual Volleyball for the Small event at Terre Haute South High School on September 22nd. Nearly 1,500 people packed the gym to cheer on the Braves and the Patriots as they had their "intensive battle for intensive care" in hopes of claiming the Volleyball for the Small trophy.  The gymnasium was full of very enthusiastic fans appropriately wearing their North blue and South red Volleyball for the Small t-shirts as they cheered on their respective teams and supported this great project at the same time. At no other sporting event have I heard the student sections chant "We love babies". We are happy to say the event has produced over $14,000 for Union Hospital Foundation's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Family Assistance Fund.
Local Collaboration Gifts $5,600 to Clara Fairbanks Center for Women

The Eagle Riders of Terre Haute and The International Brothers of Electrical Workers Union #725 collaboratively gifted $5,600 to the Clara Fairbanks Center for Women to be designated to the Mammogram Assistance Fund.

This past Labor Day, the Eagle Riders of Terre Haute hosted their second 170 mile bicycle ride throughout the Wabash Valley to assist in the early detection of breast cancer.
The Eagle Riders have been invested in local charity work since 2007 in an effort to help their friends, family and neighbors.  In order to live out their motto of "People Helping People" they look for fun and creative ways to raise money for both charities and the Aerie.

Many Thanks to the Sporting Clay Classic Participants

Twenty-three teams welcomed a chilled dewy morning turned beautiful fall day to support Union Hospital Foundation and Union Hospital Clinton Foundation's second annual Sporting Clay Classic on September 16th. This year, thanks to a record turnout, we hosted morning and afternoon shoots that were brought together by a delicious lunch sponsored by Rick's Smokehouse BBQ. The Foundation's are exuberant to announce that we have received nearly $18,000 profit from the event to support the priority needs of the hospitals.

Friends of Union Hospital Annual Drive to Benefit Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Union Hospital Foundation has launched its 2011 Friends of Union Hospital Annual Drive.  Research of the hospital's priority needs have determined that the campaign will benefit renovations of Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit areas in Union West. With over 1,500 births annually, restorations will nearly triple the space for Maternity Services, create a more holistic and soothing environment and provide the upgraded technology necessary to ensure efficient and quality care to mothers and infants.
