Ways to Give: Planned Giving

Bequest
Leave your legacy by making a gift in your will or living trust to friends, family and charitable organizations. A bequest is one of the simplest ways to remember those you care about most.  A bequest is as simple as adding a codicil to your will. A bequest can be made for a specific amount, a percentage of the total estate or the estate remaining after expenses and gifts to other beneficiaries have been made. This is the most popular form of planned gift and may provide valuable estate tax savings.

Life Insurance
A simple way for a donor to make a leadership commitment is to give a life insurance policy to the Union Hospital Foundation. The donor may accomplish this by giving a policy that is no longer needed or by naming the Union Hospital Foundation as the beneficiary of an existing policy. A gift of life insurance may provide the Donor with savings on income taxes.

Charitable Gift Annuity
A donor who establishes a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) makes an irrevocable gift of cash, securities or real estate to the Union Hospital Foundation and in return receives payment of a fixed amount per year for the life of one or two people. The CGA may provide a Donor with income tax and estate tax savings.

Charitable Remainder Trust
A Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) enables a donor to establish a trust for the donor's benefit that provides income from the assets placed in the trust. A CRT may provide savings on Capital Gains Taxes, savings on Estate Taxes and improve the income earned from assets in the trust.

Charitable Lead Trust
A Charitable Lead Trust enables a donor to establish a trust that pays income to the Union Hospital Foundation for a fixed number of years. At the termination of the Trust the remainder is returned to the donor or the donor's designated beneficiary.

Event Sponsorships
Union Hospital Foundation offers numerous sponsorship opportunities for corporations, organizations and individuals such as The Union Hospital Golf Outing Benefit, Service League Children's Classic Run benefiting Pediatric Therapy and Camp Bluebird, which helps cancer patients and survivors.

Friends of Union Hospital Annual Drive
In a caring community, individuals who have been blessed with good health and have enjoyed a measure of success in life can contribute to the growth of better healthcare for their friends and neighbors.   In Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley, Friends of Union Hospital have the opportunity to support, in very meaningful ways, the efforts of Union Hospital to bring imp[roved medical care to all of us.

While Union Hospital continues to improve patient care with advances in medical technology and techniques, your gift to the Friends of Union Hospital Annual Fund Drive supports the hospital's efforts with programs like Pediatric Therapy, Camp Bluebird for cancer patients and the 26 Fund for hospital employees in need.
